Dear Community,
As you already know, this past week has been difficult for my family, as our beloved mother departed to eternal life. We are living this moment with faith and gratitude. After nearly 98 years of life, we believe she was ready for heaven, having fulfilled her mission in this world and leaving behind a legacy of love we will never forget.
When I arrived home on January 13, she was doing quite well, considering the frailty that comes with her age. We were able to share two beautiful weeks together, which will remain in our memory. Eventually, pneumonia developed that we could not control in time, and she passed away surrounded by the whole family, in deep peace.
After sharing intense and emotional days with my siblings, we are now preparing to begin a new chapter as a family, sustained by our Christian faith and hope.
I return grateful for your prayers, your closeness, and your understanding, ready to resume pastoral work. Ahead of us are the Chinese New Year celebrations we are preparing and the beginning of a new Lenten season, with Ash Wednesday on February 18.
I continue to entrust my mother’s soul and my entire family to your prayers.
In the photos below, you will see one of the last pictures with my mother, and another with my six siblings, where I am holding a photograph of my parents.
This Friday I will be back in California, and I hope to see you on Sunday.
